Jeff Hoyer

Trombone / Euphonium (Massachusetts)

Mr. Jeff Hoyer is a freelance trombonist and euphonium player with over twenty years of experience performing in a variety of jazz, classical, and contemporary music situations across the United States, and throughout Europe. An alumni of Walt Disney World bands, Caribbean cruise ship ensembles, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and the United States Air Force Band, Mr. Hoyer’s musicianship can currently be heard in Broadway show orchestras within Boston’s theatre district and other local regional theatres, in recording studio sessions, and live commercial performances featuring music from jazz and pop to classical in addition to performing with Boston Swing.

He has performed with such celebrity artists/groups as Dianne Schuur, Darius Rucker, Wayne Newton, Jack Jones, John Davidson, Bobby Vinton, Tony Orlando, The Boston Pops, The US Army Field Band, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Lennon Sisters, Marvin Hamlisch, and jazz artists including Clark Terry, Bob Minzter, Bob Brookmeyer, Greg Hopkins, and the USAF Falconaires.

Mr. Hoyer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Missouri State University (1992), having attended on a full music scholarship. Post graduate study includes years of extensive jazz improvisation and composition instruction with internationally renowned trombonist and Berklee College of Music educator, Hal Crook, as well as tutelage from Los Angeles studio trombonists Dick Nash and Andy Martin. Mr. Hoyer is a proud member of the American Federation of Musicians (Boston local) and the Theatre Musicians Association. In his spare time, Mr. Hoyer gives private music instruction.
