Vocalist / Producer (Michigan)
Brad’s passion for the songs of yesteryear is very clear, from the first moment you speak with Brad: “All of the songs that I sing-I love them because they mean just as much today as they did when they were originally written. They are truly timeless… and I just really really love these songs,” Brad says with a smile.
McNett’s ear pleasing vocals have won him a diverse fan base, throughout Michigan, the U.S. and even the World. Brad’s interpretations of the classic “Jazz Standards” & “Great American Songbook” inspired audiences and listeners alike to “come back for more”. Brad draws from his idols – legends such as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Mel Tormé, Harry Connick, Jr., and many more of the greats. Many even believe “ …[Brad’s] delivery rivals that of Ol’ Blue Eyes himself,” (according to an article in the “Monroe Evening News” this past winter).
Brad has had the distinct pleasure of performing for diverse audiences with some incredibly talented musicians (many that he is lucky enough to call friends) such as: Steve Talaga, Mind’s Eye, The Paul Keller Ensemble, John Comfort, Mark Mahar, Rich DiMare, Mike Shay, Mark Rasmussen, Michael LaVoie, Steve Silverstein, and Benny Benson just to name a few. Brad has also had the honor of opening for the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra in the Spring of 2008. He has performed at many famous and not so famous venues such as: The Firefly Club (Ann Arbor), Cheers (Boston), Hard Rock Café (Boston), Main Street IX (Milan, MI.), Harbor Walk Café (Boston), The Encore Lounge (Boston), and many other venues, festivals, and events as well. Bandleader of Boston Swing and fellow Jazz crooner Mark Mahar is one of McNett’s biggest supporters, “he has the personal and stage potential to become one of the best ambassadors of the genre among his generation.”
Brad McNett is currently a member of the Washtenaw Community College Jazz Orchestra under the direction of, John E. Lawrence. Brad also enjoys a professional relationship with the national function band “Boston Swing” and is currently in pre-production on his still untitled debut album.
